The Quetzal Blouse embodies femininity with its plunging neckline and rounded curves at the back, enhanced by a delicate bow that falls gracefully. The elegance of this blouse lies in its puffed sleeves, created by a play of flat pleats at the front and back. For the summer version, the sleeves are short and the back is bare, but it is also possible to make a long-sleeved version or a less low-cut back, without a bow.

 By sewing Quetzal, you will learn to:
       Sew flat pleats
       Sew darts
       Make bias tape from your own fabric
       Sew bias tape on the neckline

For this blouse, mainly consider your bust measurement. If your hip measurement is more than 2 sizes above your bust measurement, it is better to grade between the two sizes from bust to hips.

If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.

Fabric choice

The Quetzal Blouse is designed to be sewn in a non-stretch fabric. For this blouse, choose rather flowing fabrics. Avoid cotton fabrics and fabrics that are too stiff. Depending on the season and the look you want, you can opt for fabrics that are more or less thick and that mark the pleat more or less: crepe, viscose twill, viscose poplin, broderie anglaise, cotton voile, muslin, etc.
The less the fabric marks the pleat, the puffier the sleeves will be.
You can sew the sleeves in a contrasting color and a light, airy fabric: dotted Swiss, muslin, let your imagination run free.
