Japanese apron with a pocket and meticulous finishes: French seams, facings and clean-finish binding. The apron is suitable not only for cooking, but also for gardening or pottery.
Tote bag without a lining, with edges bound in cotton twill tape. The tote is deliberately left open for convenience when shopping. It is lightweight, fairly quick to sew and easy to fold away for storage. Use it as a shopping bag or a beach bag, for example.

The apron comes in one size. Its shape fits most body types.

Fabric suggestions

• Placemat / napkin / tea towel / apron: washed linen, poplin, chambray, lightweight denim, jacquard
• Tote bag: sturdy fabrics weighing 330-440 g/m2, such as gabardine, canvas, denim and very heavyweight linen.

Supplies

• Placemat / napkin / tea towel / apron: optional 1 cm wide cotton twill tape.
• Tote bag: 1 and 2 cm wide cotton twill tape (the 2 cm tape may be replaced with 2 cm wide bias binding). 4 cm wide webbing for the handles. An optional snap hook for a keyring.

• * You can make up to 2 pieces from fabric 140 cm wide. The cotton twill tape lengths are for one piece; multiply by 2 for two pieces.

• ** The tote bag can be made in a single colour, in two colours (colour 1 for the front and back, colour 2 for the base and pockets), or in three colours (colour 1 for the front and back, colour 2 for the pockets, colour 3 for the base).
