Osaka is a set of patterns to create 5 kitchen accessories: placemats and napkins, a tea towel with mitered corners, a Japanese apron, and a tote bag with outer and inner pockets. Japanese apron with a pocket and perfect finishes: flat-felled seams, facings, and clean edges. This apron can be used for cooking, but also for gardening or pottery.
Tote bag without lining with bound finishes using cotton twill ribbon. The tote is designed to be open, for greater convenience during your shopping. It is a light bag, fairly quick to sew, and easy to fold for storage. It can be used as a shopping bag or a beach bag, for example.

The apron is offered in one size. Its shape adapts to most body types.

Fabric suggestions

• Placemat / napkin / tea towel / apron: washed linen, poplin, chambray, light denim, jacquard
• Tote bag: heavy fabrics 330-440 g/m2 such as gabardine, canvas, denim, very thick linen.

Supplies

• Placemat / napkin / tea towel / apron: optional 1 cm wide cotton twill ribbon.
• Tote bag: 1 and 2 cm wide cotton twill ribbons (the 2 cm ribbon can be replaced by a 2 cm wide bias tape). Straps for handles 4 cm wide. Optionally, a keyring snap hook.

• * You can make up to 2 pieces from a 140 cm wide fabric. The lengths of twill ribbon are given for one piece; multiply by 2 for two pieces.

• ** The tote bag can be made in a single color, two-tone (color 1 for front and back, color 2 for bottom and pockets), or three-tone (color 1 for front and back, color 2 for pockets, color 3 for bottom).
