Pattern for the Alaïa dress/top by Coralie Bijasson

Alaïa is the sewing pattern for a smocked dress or blouse. You can make this pattern with or without short sleeves. Feminine and timeless, this model is perfect for the coming warm days.

Material requirements:

• Fabric 140 cm wide:

  • For the dress: 250 cm
  • For the blouse: 190 cm

• Elastic thread

• Fusible interfacing on knit base: 40 cm x 70 cm

If you want to make a long dress, simply lengthen the side lines. In a 140 cm wide fabric, you can make a dress with 73 cm below the waist, in size 48. You will then need 300 cm of fabric. From size 40, you can go up to 83 cm below the waist. You will then need 320 cm of fabric.

For this model, prefer light and flowing materials like viscose crepe, silk satin, or a light cotton.
