My jersey or pointelle T-shirt on the sewing machine: I learn all the techniques for perfect finishes!
You have always dreamed of knowing how to sew jersey t-shirts but haven’t dared to start... you don’t have an overlocker and don’t want to invest in one? ... No worries, sewing jersey is also possible with a sewing machine, and we help you create your first pieces with flawless finishes that only a sewing machine can provide!
Prerequisites for this course:
- know how to use a sewing machine and have sewn at least one garment (participation in the course: I discover sewing and sew my first garment or equivalent experience)
During these 2 sessions of 3 hours each, you will learn:
- key points for sewing jersey with a sewing machine (equipment, stitch, needles...)
- the different types of jersey and their elasticity (how to measure it...)
- finishes: neckline band and length calculation
- how to make a clean finish band
- lettuce hem
- scalloped hem
Together, we will make your first jersey or pointelle t-shirt, entirely sewn with a sewing machine.
You can choose a pattern from these three offered models:
- Honeygirl for pointelle
- Blandine by Iam Patterns
- Plantain by Deer and Doe
The course includes:
- 2 x 3-hour sewing sessions guided by an experienced instructor
- sewing on quality Janome Sewist 780 electronic machines
- provision of basic materials: scissors, pins, thread…
- the t-shirt pattern
- smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone
Our courses are held in our workshop at:
Either in Ixelles: Avenue de la Couronne, 357 1050 Ixelles

Getting to the Woluwe workshop by public transport:
- Tram 7 or 25 (George Henri stop) - 4 minutes on foot
- Metro 1 (Joséphine Charlotte stop) - 9 minutes on foot
- Metro 1 (Montgomery stop) - 9 minutes on foot
- Metro 1 or 5 (Mérode stop) - 12 minutes on foot
- Train (Mérode stop) - 12 minutes on foot
- Train (Etterbeek station) then transfer to tram 7 towards Heyzel or tram 25 towards Roger to George Henri stop - 4 minutes on foot
