| FABRIC AND MATERIALS |

Woven, non-stretch fabrics: cotton poplin, cotton satin, linen, organza, Tencel...
For the sleeveless version, choose a fabric with a good fall, as it does not need to be as “crisp” as for the raglan sleeve version (since the puffed sleeves need to keep their shape). Examples include double gauze, lightweight twill...

| DIFFICULTY |

Moderate.

The Zoe dress is not hard to sew: it is a pullover dress with a back-tie fastening, meaning no zippers, no buttons, and no lining. The puffed sleeves require some focus but are not overly tricky to sew. The sleeveless version involves sewing bias-bound edges at the armholes, but it is easier than it sounds.

The real challenge lies in handling the fabric (between 3 and 4 metres depending on the size!) and gathering the long pieces. Begin this project with a full measure of patience.
