I knit my first summer top or my first winter sweater with circular needles

Have you recently started using circular needles and want to start your first garment knitted with these needles? Do you want to discover the secrets of a seamless knitted top? We designed this workshop for you. We will knit together, your choice, your first summer t-shirt or your sweater for the cold end-of-year season!

The prerequisites for this course are basic knitting skills: casting on and binding off loosely, knit stitch and purl stitch

During this 10-hour course, you will learn:

–      discovering or practicing mastery of circular needles

–      discovering or practicing the magic loop to knit all diameters on the same cable

–      knitting a sweater or a t-shirt in the round, seamless, from the neckline down

–      using your gauge swatch

–      knitting left- and right-leaning interspersed increases

–      knitting left- and right-leaning decreases

–      picking up stitches neatly

–      knitting stripes or a simple lace chart if you wish

Note, the technical stitches will be discovered and practiced during the sessions. Part of the knitting will need to be done at home between sessions.

The course includes:

Recommended yarn and needles for this workshop:

For the sweater: Fonty super tweed wool. Knitted on needles size 5 with a gauge of 17 stitches and 25 rows per 10 cm. Needles size 4.5 will also be used for the ribbing.

For the summer t-shirt: Katia "Puro cotone" cotton yarn on needles size 3 to 3.5 with a gauge of 24 to 25 stitches and 32 rows. Needles size 2.75 to 3 will also be used for the ribbing.
