Want to learn patternmaking techniques and sew your first twirling skirt for yourself, your daughter, your granddaughter…?

I will teach you how to draft the pattern, sew it, apply beautiful finishes, and reproduce it endlessly.

During these 3 sessions of 2h30 courses, you will learn:

  • How to draft a circle skirt (half-circle, quarter-circle...) and its waistband or facing (calculation, technical drawing, seam allowances)
  • How to choose the length (mini, midi, maxi)
  • How to add lace or create contrasting color bands at the bottom of the skirt
  • How to calculate fabric requirements
  • How to cut the fabric properly
  • How to apply interfacing
  • How to neatly insert an invisible zipper
  • How to assemble a lined waistband
  • Tips and tricks for beautiful finishes, especially on curves for hems

You will leave home with your finished skirt!

Course level: from intermediate level (at the very least having taken the course I discover sewing and first garment). It is necessary to have already sewn at least one garment (knowing how to copy a pattern, understand the orientation of pieces, manage seam allowances, cut fabric, ...)
It is necessary to be autonomous in using the sewing machine (knowing how to thread it, adjust stitch length...)
Unsure about your level? Feel free to contact me

The course includes:

  • 3 x 2h30 of guided sewing with an experienced instructor
  • the cutting paper needed to construct the model and the toile
  • sewing on quality electronic machines Janome Sewist 780 and Juki Kirei serger
  • access to basic materials: scissors, pins, thread, Japanese ruler, needles …
  • smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone

If you are sewing for someone else, it is necessary to know their waist measurement before the first course.
