Sewing – Discovering sewing

Have you always dreamed of learning how to sew but never dared to take the plunge? Then this course is made for you!

Together, we will learn how to use a sewing machine and, above all, how to sew your very first real sewing projects!

No prerequisites required for this course; we start from the basics so you acquire the right habits and methods right from the start of your sewing journey.

During these 4 course sessions of 2h30 each, you will learn:

• the anatomy of the sewing machine and its basic functions
• how to use a sewing machine in complete safety
• the initial machine settings and how to change presser feet
• your first concepts regarding sewing equipment and basic fabrics
• sewing straight lines, curves…
• inserting a zipper
• applying bias tape or piping

Together, we will complete 3 full projects that you will take home with you.

The course includes:

• 4 x 2h30 of sewing guided by an experienced teacher
• sewing on quality Janome Sewist 780 electronic machines
• provision of basic equipment: scissors, pins, thread…
• the materials required to craft your first three projects
• smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone

Our courses take place in our workshop located at:
Either in Ixelles: Avenue de la Couronne, 357 1050 Ixelles
Or in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert: Avenue Georges Henri, 328 1200 Woluwe-Saint-Lambert

• Tram 7 or 25 (Gare d'Etterbeek stop) - 5-minute walk
• Train (Etterbeek station) - 5-minute walk
• Tram 8 (ULB stop) - 15-minute walk or connection with Bus 71 to Cimetière d'Ixelles
• Metro 5 (Delta stop) - 15-minute walk or connection with Bus 71 to Cimetière d'Ixelles
