Sewing - I sew my first garment
Have you always dreamed of being able to sew your own clothes? Maybe you have already sewn accessories and small projects but have never dared to start making your first garment? Then the course "I sew my first garment" is made for you!
We will learn together how to make your first garment!
The prerequisites for this course are to be autonomous in using the sewing machine and to be comfortable with its use. If you have taken the course, "I discover sewing" you can join this course.
During these 4 course sessions, you will learn:
- how to take your measurements
- how to decipher a commercial pattern
- how to reproduce this pattern on paper to your measurements
- how to read the assembly instructions
- sewing techniques specific to clothing
We will make together 1 clothing project (blouse, dress, or skirt for ladies - unlined jacket for gentlemen).
Ladies will have a choice among about fifteen patterns.
Gentlemen are directed towards a nice unlined jacket.
The course includes:
- 4 x 2h30 of sewing accompanied by an experienced teacher
- sewing on quality electronic machines Janome Sewist 780 and Juki overlockers
- provision of basic materials: scissors, pins, thread, ruler, cutting paper…
- the pattern in printed version that you have chosen to make
- smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone
- a complimentary drink at each course
Consumables (fabric, matching thread, possible bias tape, lace…) for making the garment are not included in this price.
For the intensive session, please come at least 1 week before the course to choose your model and fabrics so you can wash and iron them before the first class.
