Do you want to sew an original piece for your wardrobe?
Then why not a beautiful kimono/haori jacket in a lovely Japanese fabric of your choice?
The course "I sew my first kimono" is made for you!

Together we will learn:

  • how to choose the fabric for your kimono (depending on the desired look)
  • how to understand the pattern of the jacket
  • how to cut the fabric according to the pattern and the motifs
  • how to sew your jacket
  • how to adapt the finishes according to your sewing level

The prerequisites for this course are knowing how to use a sewing machine. People who have taken the courses "I discover sewing" or "I sew my first garment" are welcome to this themed workshop. Likewise, children from 10 years old can register for this course. Finally, english speakers are welcome!

The group is composed of a maximum of 6 students.

The course includes:

  • 1 X 2h30 of technical explanations, cutting, and preparation of the pattern pieces
  • 1 X 2h30 of sewing the project
  • The use of sewing machines and overlockers (depending on your level)
  • the provision of basic materials: scissors, pins, black or white overlocker thread…
  • smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone

Not included: the kimono fabric and matching thread
For the course, it is necessary to come with woven fabric (cotton poplin, twill, serge...) washed and ironed. Feel free to contact me or visit the shop for the required yardage depending on your size and the width of the chosen fabric.
