Then why not a lovely kimono jacket / haori in a beautiful Japanese fabric of your choice?
The "I sew my first kimono" course is made for you!

Together we will learn:


  • how to understand the jacket Pattern
  • how to cut the fabric according to the Pattern and patterns
  • how to sew your jacket
  • how to adapt the finishes according to your sewing level

The prerequisites for this course are knowing how to use a sewing machine. People who have taken the "I discover sewing" or "I sew my first garment" courses are welcome to this themed workshop. Likewise, children from 10 years old can register for this course. Finally, english speakers are welcome!

The group consists of a maximum of 6 students.

The course includes:

  • 1 X 2h30 of technical explanations, cutting and preparing the Pattern pieces
  • 1 X 2h30 of sewing the project
  • The use of sewing machines and serger (depending on your level)
  • The provision of basic equipment: scissors, pins, black or white serger thread…
  • Smiles, kindness and respect for everyone

Not included: the kimono fabric and matching thread
For the course, it is necessary to bring woven fabric (cotton poplin, twill...) washed and ironed. Do not hesitate to contact me or stop by the shop for the yardage to foresee depending on your size and the width of the chosen fabric.

  • Bus 71 (stop Cimetière d'Ixelles) - 5 minutes walk
  • Tram 7 or 25 (stop Gare d'Etterbeek) - 5 minutes walk
  • Train (Etterbeek station) - 5 minutes walk
  • Tram 8 (stop ULB) - 15 minutes walk or connection with Bus 71 to Cimetière d'Ixelles
  • Metro 5 (stop Delta) - 15 minutes walk or connection with Bus 71 to Cimetière d'Ixelles

Getting to the Woluwe workshop by public transport:

  • Tram 7 or 25 (stop Georges Henri) - 4 min walk
  • Metro 1 (stop Joséphine Charlotte) - 9 min walk
  • Metro 1 (stop Montgomery) - 9 min walk
  • Metro 1 or 5 (stop Mérode) - 12 min walk
  • Train (stop Mérode) - 12 min walk
  • Train (Etterbeek station) then take the connection with tram 7 towards Heysel or tram 25 towards Rogier to the Georges Henri stop - 4 min walk
  • Train (Brussels Central Station) then take the connection with metro 1 towards Stockel to the Joséphine Charlotte stop - 9 min walk
