Sewing – I'm sewing the Pam coat by Maison Fauve (size 34 to 52)

Are you dreaming of sewing your very first coat, but don't dare to get started on your own because the technical steps and thick fabrics intimidate you?
Do you have an intermediate sewing level and want a nice challenge for your next creations? Why not come and sew your first coat with me?

The featured pattern is the Pam model by Maison Fauve, which will delight you with its shawl collar.
This model ranges from size 34 to 52.
It is possible to choose another pattern if you wish, such as the Namasté by Coralie Bijasson, Merlin by Iam Patterns... (please contact us beforehand).

We will create a lovely coat model together, carefully covering all the technical steps.

During these 4 three-hour course sessions, we will cover together:

- theoretical explanations regarding the coat, specific haberdashery essentials...
- the coat's specifics: pockets, lining, collar, ...
- practical applications, particularly the techniques for sewing pockets and lining
- creating a Toile and making adjustments
- and finally, of course, completing your very first coat

The course includes:

• 4 x 3h00 of sewing guided by an experienced teacher
• the printed pattern and the tracing paper required for transfers and adjustments
• the calico fabric for the test Toile
• sewing on high-quality Janome Sewist 780 electronic sewing machines and Juki Kirei overlockers
• access to basic sewing tools: scissors, pins, thread, Japanese ruler, needles…
• smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone

Required level for this course: intermediate
- You must have already sewn several garments (know how to trace a pattern, understand grainlines and pattern pieces, manage seam allowances, cut fabric,...)
- You need to be autonomous when using the sewing machine (know how to thread it, adjust stitch length based on instructions...)

This course requires some work at home; make sure to allow a little time between sessions to progress on simple steps at home, which will be thoroughly explained by your teacher—no panic 😉.
