Material suggestions:
-
Fabric 1: knit or woven (warp and weft)
Sweatshirt material, french terry, milano knit (Ponti Roma), heavy jersey, polar knit, jersey or quilted fabric, knit or woven denim, jacquard.
- Fabric 2 optional: poplin for facing pattern of version B
Pattern details:
If you choose version A in a NON-stretch fabric, you will need to lengthen pattern piece No.4 (bottom body band) by 3cm for women because it is originally designed for a stretch material and is shorter than the width of the bottom of the vest to be stretched when worn. So for a non-stretch fabric, the band piece must be lengthened
Supplies to provide:
- Fabric 2 is optional: the facing pattern of version B can also be made in main fabric 1. The supply table includes facings in fabric 1 requirements
- buttons from 12 to 20 mm or snap buttons for anorak (plan one less for short pattern B version)
- knit or woven bias tape optional
- Bias tape to bind inner seam allowances: if you want to bind the body and sleeve seam allowances (side seams, inside sleeves and placket or facing pattern, unbound armholes) plan about 4 to 5m of bias tape in addition to the amounts indicated in the table. We explain in a video how to bind seam allowances.
