SUPER TWEED is one of Fonty's iconic threads. Made of 95% fine wool, which provides softness and elasticity, and 5% mohair fiber that gives a shiny appearance and loftiness, SUPER TWEED is a carded thread with an extraordinary feel.

Within the family of tweeds (threads with small intentional random color flecks), SUPER TWEED is unique on the market because it is the only one made entirely of natural fibers. Indeed, its color flecks are exclusively made of naturally dyed wool, unlike others. The main fiber is dyed in loose form before being spun into thread, and the flecks are added to an already pigmented material. This method of dyeing the raw material rather than dyeing the thread itself also allows for the creation of three subtly shaded colors for each dye batch by mixing dyed loose fiber with undyed loose fiber. This deliberate choice of a more demanding manufacturing method reduces dyeing operations and thus their ecological impact, while ensuring coherent color blends.

SUPER TWEED is a two-ply thread with medium twist, of medium thickness, which is knitted with size 5 needles. Ideal for Irish sweaters, ribbing, and winter accessories, SUPER TWEED is versatile and suitable for all types of work.
