The GENGIS KHAN 2 yarn is made exclusively from yak down sourced from the “Cooperative of Breeders of the Khangai Mountains,” an eco-friendly and fair trade supply chain established by Fonty in Mongolia with the technical support of AVSF (Agronomists and Veterinarians Without Borders).
The yaks are combed in spring by Mongolian herders, and after sorting, just under 100g of down per animal per year is collected and spun into yarn by Fonty.

This 2-ply yarn, besides its exceptional colors and feel, is particularly warm; entirely natural and without any chemical treatment, it comes in 3 shades (grey, brown, dark brown) which are the three colours of the yaks’ fleeces, and in 2 twisted versions, pairing these 3 colours two by two.
GENGIS KHAN 2 is knitted with needles size #2 to 2.5.

It is hand washed and has the special quality of softening with successive washes.
