Choose the right size of underwear or swimwear:

These products must be very close-fitting (especially for bottoms, panties or boxers as these are small pieces for which height is less important than the child's build and age....) it is recommended not to take an age size larger than the child's actual age. For example, as long as a child has not reached 7 years, make small swimsuit and underwear pieces in size 6 years. In case of doubt, it is better to take the size below rather than the size above.

Fabric suggestions:

stretch fabric: fine jersey, pointelle knit, rib
COTTON jersey essential for the inner gusset
optional ribbing (in this case provide 35cm of stabilmanche or thin ribbon + 60cm of 5mm wide elastic)

Supplies:

elastic bias or fancy elastic with picots
foam thread
double needle (if you don't have one, it is possible to replace all stitches made with the double needle by a zig-zag stitch)
double feed foot for sewing machine (preferable for sewing ribbing)
