Are you dreaming of sewing your first pair of trousers, but don't dare to start on your own because the technical side scares you?
Do you have a beginner/intermediate level in sewing (at a minimum, having already taken the "I discover sewing" and "first garment" courses or equivalent level) and want a challenge for your next makes? Then why not come and sew your first trousers with me?

Three pattern designs: Sanaz, Paloma, and Philippe by Coralie Bijasson will be offered so you can create a pair of trousers with technical challenges matching your sewing level (no welt pockets or fly zippers).

Together, we will make the pattern of your choice among the three options. These three models will allow us to cover the most interesting technical aspects of trouser sewing during the course.

During these 4 course sessions of 2h30 each, we will cover together:

- theoretical explanations on trousers...
- the specificities of trousers
- practical applications, especially the specific execution of technical steps
- making a Toile and adjustments
- and of course, the completion of your first trousers

The course includes:

  • 4 x 2h30 of sewing guided by an experienced teacher
  • the Printed pattern and the tracing paper needed for transfers and alterations
  • the calico fabric for the test Toile
  • sewing on quality Janome Sewist 780 electronic sewing machines and Juki Kirei sergers
  • access to basic supplies: scissors, pins, thread, Japanese ruler, needles…
  • smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone

Level required for this course: beginner/intermediate (must have taken at least the "I discover sewing" and "I sew my first garment" courses or equivalent)
- It is necessary to have already sewn at least one garment (knowing how to trace a pattern, understanding piece orientation, managing seam allowances, cutting fabric,...)
- It is necessary to be independent in using a sewing machine (knowing how to thread it, change stitch length...)
In doubt about your level? Don't hesitate to get in touch with me 😊
