Are you unhappy with your hand stitching on your clothes? Do you complain about not knowing how to sew a button properly? Your finishing touches leave much to be desired even though you put your whole heart into making them? Then the course « High fashion hand finishing » is made for you!

We will learn to make hand finishes of quality like in the great fashion houses; you will no longer have to be ashamed of them!

No prerequisites for this course

During these 2 course sessions, you will learn:

  • how to sew different types of buttons
  • the basic stitches: backstitch, slip stitch, silk stitch, catch stitch, buttonhole stitch, ladder stitch, rolled hem...
  • how to sew an invisible hem by hand
  • how to sew a zipper by hand
  • how to make a button loop by hand
  • how to attach snaps and hooks

We will make all these stitches together on calico which will allow you to build your portfolio.

The course includes:

  • 2 x 2h30 of sewing accompanied by an experienced teacher
  • the materials for creating the portfolio
  • the provision of basic tools: scissors, pins, thread,...
  • smiles, kindness and respect for everyone
  • a drink offered at each course

Our courses are given in our workshop at:
Either in Ixelles: Avenue de la Couronne, 357 1050 Ixelles
Or in Woluwe Saint Lambert: Avenue Georges Henri, 328 1200 Woluwe Saint Lambert

  • Bus 95 (Thys stop) - less than 1 minute walk
  • Bus 71 (Ixelles cemetery stop) - 5 minutes walk
  • Tram 7 or 25 (Etterbeek station stop) - 5 minutes walk
  • Train (Etterbeek station) - 5 minutes walk
  • Tram 8 (ULB stop) - 15 minutes on foot or connection with Bus 71 to Ixelles cemetery
  • Metro 5 (Delta stop) - 15 minutes on foot or connection with Bus 71 to Ixelles cemetery

Getting to the Woluwe workshop by public transport:

  • Tram 7 or 25 (George Henri stop) - 4 minutes on foot
  • Metro 1 (Joséphine Charlotte stop) - 9 minutes on foot
  • Metro 1 (Montgomery stop) - 9 minutes on foot
  • Metro 1 or 5 (Mérode stop) - 12 minutes on foot
  • Train (Mérode stop) - 12 minutes on foot
  • Train (Etterbeek station) then take the connection with tram 7 towards Heysel or tram 25 towards Roger to George Henri stop - 4 minutes on foot
  • Train (Central Station) then take the connection with metro 1 towards Stockel to Joséphine Charlotte stop - 9 minutes on foot
