Sewing – Handcrafted haute couture finishes

Are you unhappy with the hand-sewn details on your clothes? Do you complain about not knowing how to sew a button properly? Do your finishes leave a lot to be desired, even though you put all your heart into making them? Then the "Handmade haute couture finishes" course is made for you!

We will learn how to create high-quality hand finishes, just like in the major couture houses; you won't have to feel embarrassed about them anymore!

No prerequisites for this course

During these 2 course sessions, you will learn:

• how to sew different types of buttons
• basic stitches: backstitch, catch stitch, silk stitch, slip stitch, blanket stitch, ladder stitch, rolled hem...
• how to sew an invisible hem by hand
• how to sew a zipper by hand
• how to make a thread button loop by hand
• how to attach snap fasteners and hooks and eyes

We will practice all these stitches together on Toile, allowing you to build your own portfolio.

The course includes:

• 2 x 2h30 of guided sewing with an experienced teacher
• materials to create your portfolio
• use of basic equipment: scissors, pins, thread...
• smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone
• a complimentary drink at each course

Our courses take place in our workshop at:
Either in Ixelles: Avenue de la Couronne, 357 1050 Ixelles
