Have you always dreamed of being able to create your own clothes?
Do you already have basic patternmaking skills or have you already taken our patternmaking module 1?
Would you like your tops (blouse, shirt, but also dress bodices...) to fit you "like a glove" and are you disappointed with the patterns available in stores or ready-to-wear shops?
Do you feel like nothing fits you... then learn to make your clothes to measure! The patternmaking course is made for you!

Together we will learn the basics of bodice patternmaking with a solid theoretical part to fully understand the principles of shaping the upper female body.

The prerequisites for this course are:
- to have at least a basic level in patternmaking
- to have sewn about twenty different patterns
Note: the basic concepts covered in module 1 will not be taught in this module.

During these 8 sessions of 3 hours each, you will learn:

  • The construction of the basic bodice
  • how to make test garments and adjust them to fit your shape
  • how to change the placement and number of darts
  • how to modify your basic top
  • how to analyse commercial models to remake them "by yourself".

You will leave with your basic bodice which will become your model for all top (and dress bodice) alterations.
The teaching you receive will allow you to make any type of custom top for yourself or your circle.

The course includes:

  • 8 x 3h of patternmaking guided by an experienced teacher
  • paper materials for exercises
  • sewing on quality electronic machines Janome Sewist 780 and Juki overlockers
  • provision of basic tools: scissors, pins, thread, ruler, cutting paper…
  • smiles, kindness and respect for everyone
  • a drink offered at each class

A "patternmaking" kit will be available for purchase as part of this course with all the supplies needed for tracing patterns, reproducing them, and making test garments.
