During a trip to Alsace, here I am passing through the doors of a Mondial Tissus.
Passing by the pattern section, I discover the Albizia pattern.
This pretty summer wrap dress catches my eye. Without hesitation, here it is in my basket.

Back from a trip, I get to work and take the time to dissect the pattern and instructions.
The pattern is classified as: "intermediate level". However, since the explanations are quite brief, specific sewing vocabulary must be mastered. Likewise, knowledge of garment construction and good sewing habits (e.g., pressing open seams…) helps in completing the mentioned steps as they are not detailed.
On the other hand, it is regrettable that the mention of the fabric length is not adapted to the chosen size. The recommended length is 3m for all sizes. Similarly, the average length of the straps and closure ties of the dress is not indicated. It is proposed to make 2 strips of 4cm along the entire width of the fabric, which will then be folded and stitched with a topstitch. This works well if you want to make straps from your fabric, but if you want to buy something to make fancy straps, you will have to calculate the necessary length yourself.
Finally, I modified the way the waistband is assembled to simplify its construction and topstitched the waistband seams for the finish. Being short, I shortened the skirt length so that it reaches my knees.
I made the dress in size 36, a size corresponding to my measurements, and it fits perfectly.

The dress is offered from size 34 to size 48 for a bust measurement of 80 to 114cm, a waist measurement of 60 to 94cm, and a hip measurement of 86 to 120cm. Tracing the pattern is easy. The 1cm seams are included and they are 2cm for the hems.
