Usually I never make New Year's resolutions.
But this year, it's different... I've been sewing for over 5 years now and have accumulated a lot of fabrics, materials, patterns... and when I looked at my workshop during the holidays... I had the click... shame on me... what a mess!
Anyway, I decided to get a grip on myself, so here are the first resolutions of my life!
First resolution: I tidy my workshop and keep it tidy all year... yes, I can do it!
And when I say workshop, I mean:
- the work table and machines,
- the fabrics and scraps,
- the haberdashery,
- the patterns.

Second resolution: I finish the projects started
I'm counting everything that was started and then stopped halfway... wow 😱
Watch out:
- a shirt for my man -> he finds it a bit short so I'm not motivated to finish the buttonholes and the hem...
- a silver Sirocco jumpsuit from Deer and Doe -> too big, I have to reduce everything (back too long, legs too wide... this project requires a lot of adjustment work)
- a black Iris jumpsuit from Maison Fauve -> only the collar, zipper and hems left
- a bag (originally to leave this summer) -> we're not far in the project... so, we left without a bag
- a pencil skirt home pattern -> inner facing remains
- a blue velvet wrap dress from the book ma garde-robe chic et intemporelle by Pauline Alice -> belt finishing, hems remain
- a hemispheric coat from Pauline Alice -> lining and finishing remain
- James pants from La Maison Victor for my man -> I have to dismantle the crotch and take in the seam allowances because they are a bit tight...
- a rocaille blouse from Maison Fauve -> sleeves and hems remain
- a Wishing girl blouse from Mimoï pattern -> still a lot of work
- an Anis blouse from Petite Frambise -> just cut in November 2019
- a Cédrat camisole from Maison Fauve -> just cut in September 2019... arhhh
- a red wrap dress whose pattern I no longer remember... -> buttonholes remain
- a Fenna sweatshirt from La Maison Victor
- a toiletry bag -> halfway done
- a Myriam dress from the book un été de couture by Géraldine Debeauvais from the brand Republique du chiffon
- makeup remover wipes...

Total: 17 projects in progress .... Help!
I decided that any project on this list that was not finished by the end of 2020 would either be dismantled or thrown away.
I will give you a monthly update on the progress.
Third resolution: I start a maximum of 3 projects at the same time
I had first said one but that is not possible for me, I won't manage 😅
I need variety in my projects so I regularly sew several projects at the same time.
In my wishing list there is:
- an elegant skirt from Popeline et Linon in plaid
- a Bruyère dress from Deer and Doe in plaid
- a Cardamome dress from Deer and Doe
- a sweater for my man
- panties made from scraps with the paola pattern from petit patron
- a lingerie set with Etoffe Malicieuse
- a velvet bodysuit
- a velvet wrap dress, house pattern
- an Artémis coat from the Vestes et Manteaux book from Editions Mango
- a Burdastyle coat
- a Gentleman coat from the beaux gosses for my man

Total: 11 projects
I already have all the fabrics for these projects... now I just have to... I think 2020 is going to be busy...
At the same time, I have fabrics in advance for 2021 and 2022 at least 😅
Fourth resolution: I will finish the year with a smaller stock of fabrics than at the beginning of the year.
I think this is going to be the hardest for me... especially during this sales period... Come on, let's hold on and stay motivated.
