I tried the vanilla blouse from the brand La Petite Frambise.

I had the chance to test in preview the pretty Vanille blouse from the very young brand La Petite Frambise. I am truly honored that Karolina selected my application as a tester and it is a real pleasure to share this sewing experience through these exchanges!
That said... we are here to talk about Vanille.

So Vanille is a blouse offered in a mother-daughter duo, which is the principle of the brand La petite Frambise and especially of its Together collection. Vanille, like the other patterns of the brand, is also available in women's or girl versions. It's up to you to choose.

The patterns are available on the site in PDF version (A4 and A0) at the price of 8 euros for the girl and women models and at the price of 12 euros for the duo.

Vanille is offered for girls from size 4 years to 12 years (height 104 to 152) and from size 34 to 46 for the women's version which corresponds to:
- a bust measurement between 80 and 104cm
- a waist measurement between 62 and 90 cm
For my part, I chose size 36 which matched my measurements. For this size, the fabric requirements are 1.5m for a coupon with a width of 140cm.
For my version, I chose a pretty viscose with golden lurex dots bought on sale at chipote et papote. The buttons come from a haberdashery stash.

For the women's version, Karolina offers us a cowl neck version and a "normal" collar version. Likewise, there are two sleeve versions: 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves.
Finally, it is possible to add a ruffle at the front, on the sleeves, and a tie at the back to tighten the blouse.
I chose to test the regular collar and long sleeves with their pretty cuff for the test version and I am not disappointed.
If you wish, it is also possible to lengthen Vanille to make a dress.

No difficulties assembling the pattern pieces in PDF format. The instructions are complete and cherry on top, the seam allowances are included. I really appreciated the choice of 0.7cm seam allowances which makes it easier to use the guide mark at the edge of the presser foot.
No technical difficulties when following the well-complete instruction guide.
There are quite a few technical points to note:
- assembling the front and its "V" ruffle with gathers
- assembling the facing
- making tear-resistant slits for the sleeves
- making cuffs with buttonholes
- setting in sleeves with ease
- hemming
Note that Vanille does not have bust darts or a zipper. You can put on Vanille from the top without any problem.

I chose to secure the facing inside the garment with a dead stitch. I find this finish very pretty.
On the other hand, to finish the facing nicely, it is also possible to sew a bias tape on top. I plan to do this finish for the next version instead of just overlocking it.
Finally, for my version, I also fixed the facing in the overlock of the armholes so that it does not move and I also fixed it with small straight stitches at the shoulder seams.

Conclusion, I approve this pretty pattern! And you, what do you think?
