Easter is fast approaching, and it's the perfect opportunity to share a little tutorial to make your own Easter pouches. These pouches are very practical for gifting eggs and sweets. They can also be used to decorate a festive table.

These pouches are simple, very quick to make, and are therefore an excellent sewing project if you are a beginner.

In the seamstress's basket

•  2 coordinated fabric pieces of 30cm. You will find lovely childlike patterns in our shop, including fabrics with little rabbits. 
• matching thread
• your sewing machine
• the Chouette Kit pattern

Steps 

1. Cut the paper pattern. 

2. Cut the pattern twice in each fabric. 

3. Assemble right sides together the two faces of the same fabric, starting at the top of one side of the square to the other side of the same square. Do the same for the other two fabric pieces, leaving a 5cm opening at the bottom of the basket. 

4. Sew the corners of the baskets. To do this, "open" the corners by matching the side seams. Mark the sewing line with chalk, which should measure 2cm on each side of the seam (so the line measures 4cm in total).

5. Trim the corners. 

6. Turn one of the pouches right side out and slip it inside the other pouch. Match the side seams and the ears. Pin and sew around the edges of the basket and the ears.

7. Clip the curves, meaning make small snips in the seam allowance of the ears. 

8. Turn your work right side out through the opening at the bottom of the basket. Make sure to push out the ears well. 

9. Press the ears and the edge of the basket well. 

10. Close the opening used to turn the basket inside out with a hand stitch. 

Ta-da, your basket is complete!

All that's left is to give it to your loved ones!
